In the Words of Mrs. R.H. (A Search and Care Client)As the years go on and on and you and I become older and older and then become very old (I'm 106), we have to adjust to the concomitants of old age, including loss of friends, loss of physical strength, and loss of social contact.
An individual, who day after day has no one to talk to, no one to exchange ideas with, is a miserable human being. He (or she) is entitled to complain loudly that he is feeble, old, and lonely and no one cares. But he is wrong, very wrong! Search and Care does care. Other than basic needs, Search and Care is concerned about human needs. An organization that brings people of similar interests together is indeed proof that consideration for other human beings isn't yet obsolete. Really, it's not too much to say that there is hope for the future.
My own experience with Search and Care at the age of 106 may have added years to my life, if not, made my life much more interesting than it would have been without Search and Care. Old age need not be a dreary time. To make new friends and engage in stimulating conversations, may perhaps actually extend an individual's life, and, certainly, it makes any life that much more interesting.
